In short

Check power and the socket, the water tap and pressure, child locks and settings, clean the filters users are allowed to clean, note the error code, restart after unplugging, then prepare the model, code and a description before you call.

1. Power and the socket

Test the socket with another appliance, make sure the breaker hasn’t tripped, and that the appliance is plugged in directly, not via a weak extension lead.

2. Water tap and pressure

For washers, dishwashers and fridge dispensers: is the tap fully open? Is the household supply off or weak? Is the hose kinked behind the appliance?

3. Locks and settings

  • Is Child Lock on?
  • Is Delay set?
  • Is the door fully closed with nothing trapped?
  • On a fridge: is the display showing demo mode?

4. User-cleanable filters

The washer pump filter, the dishwasher filter, the dryer lint filter and condenser, and the fridge water filter. Many draining, drying and flow problems start here.

Unplug first, and wait for water or the appliance to cool if it uses heat.

5. Note the error code

Photograph the display. The code shortcuts much of the diagnosis and helps the technician anticipate the likely part.

6. Restart the right way

Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then switch back on. This resets the board and can clear a code caused by a temporary fluctuation.

7. Prepare the details

  • Appliance type and model number (from the label).
  • The error code and its photo.
  • When the problem started and whether anything changed before (a move, power cut, new installation).
  • Any noise, smell or leak you noticed.

FAQ

Where is the model number?

On washers usually around the door opening, on dishwashers on the door edge, on dryers inside the door or at the back, and on fridges on an inner wall.

Can I send the details on WhatsApp?

Yes — send the code, a label photo and a description to 0782540147 and we’ll reply.

What if no code appears?

Describe the problem precisely: what happens, when, and any noise or smell. A good description is sometimes as useful as a code.
